Desmond Leung Kar Hao (梁嘉昊) is a Hong Kong-based intermedia artist and founder of AHO (aho.art), whose practice he terms Contemporary Holistic Art — a living synthesis of Daoist philosophy, spiritual ecology, and emerging digital technologies.

His methodology follows a cyclical arc: sensing → painting → digitising → re-embodying. Rooted in oil and ink on canvas, each work passes through layers of XR, motion-sensing, and sound interaction before returning as an immersive, embodied experience. Drawing on the Shan Shui tradition and lyrical abstraction, his visual language treats impermanence (wu chang), emptiness (xu), and continuous transformation not as themes but as structural principles.

His newest body of work bridges painting and interactive art through the living geometry of Ikebana and the transformative cosmology of the I Ching — where each floral arrangement and hexagram becomes a threshold between stillness and change.

Ongoing series include Weaving Awareness, a live visual meditation practice, and Visible Music, a series of interactive art concerts. His work has been commissioned by CHANEL, Starbucks Asia Pacific, Samsung, IHG Group, UOB, Hang Seng Bank, and Lane Crawford, and exhibited internationally at Art Basel Miami, SIGGRAPH Asia, Vienna Design Week, and the Canada Science & Technology Museum, among others. He is archived by Zurich University of the Arts as part of the Methods of Art project.
